Ashburn Ruritan Club
Supporting the Ashburn, Virginia Community Since 1993
Welcome!
"Fellowship, Goodwill and Community Service"
The Ashburn Ruritan Club is the local chapter of a national organization started in 1928 in Holland, Virginia. Since that first club, Ruritan has grown throughout the United States of America and has 34,000 members that work to improve more than 1,200 local communities.
Ruritan's purpose is to create a better understanding among people through volunteer community service making America's communities better places in which to live and work. The slogan of Ruritan is "Fellowship, Goodwill and Community Service." Club membership represents a cross-section of the community in which the club serves, and is not restrictive with regard to occupation, social position, or any other specific criteria.
The Ashburn Ruritan Club, in cooperation with the administrative staffs at the 21 local elementary, middle and high schools, seeks to improve the Ashburn community by providing merit based scholarships and support for under-funded educational programs.
In addition, the Ruritans provide financial assistance for needy children and emergency support for victims of local catastrophes through monetary gifts and volunteer service.
